Three things I learned from Jesus.

1. Clarity for the Mission

  • To Save the world (not to condemn it) – John 3:17
    • If you’re going to accomplish your mission, you have to be clear & focused
    • It’s the difference between the light spread out like a flood light or the light focused like a laser.
    • Clarity kills the confusion – Mat 28:19
    • He past down the vision to His team
    • The Mission – the goal they chose to die for – the cause

2. Discipline for the Distance

  • He had to have discipline because, He knew he was going to die
  • He had to have discipline because, He had to do it according to prophecy
  • Jim Collins, author of “Good to Great and the Social Sectors” says, “In my work with nonprofits, I find that they’re in the desperate need of great discipline – disciplined planning, disciplined people, disciplined governance, disciplined allocation of resources.” – JimCollins.com

3. Love for the people

  • Bottom line – Love the people!
  • It’s the total motivation for the mission of Christ.
    • It’s what motivated every action & reaction.

    • “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Cor 13:13 – The Bible

Being SUPERnatural

As a pastor, I am constantly looking for ways to become more spiritual, more helpful and more like Jesus. After many years of trying many different things, I can tell you that the simple act of prayer is the most supernatural thing you’ll ever do. Abraham prayed, Moses prayed, Deborah prayed, Mary prayerd, Jesus prayed and just about every other biblical figure we read about today prayed. Prayer is a very easy thing to do; just talk to God. There is no formula, no right or wrong way. You only have to take a few moments and express your heart to Him. Prayer takes our natural and makes it SUPER!

I want to encourage you today to take 30 seconds and talk to God. I believe He is looking forward to it.
