Proverbs 17:22 – “A cheerful heart is good medicine” or as one version says, “laughter does good like medicine.” I hope you find a way each day to add laughter and cheerfulness to your day.

paradigm::shift

by @scottmo on Jan.08, 2010, under Mo's

Paradigm Shift is a term used to describe a change in basic assumptions – your thoughts about yourself, your life, your limits, your past, your future, etc. Leonardo da Vinci said “All our knowledge has its origins in our perceptions.” I believe that most of the limitations we experience in life are of our own making… in our mind. When a paradigm shift occurs in our thinking, thoughts are included that we once believed were impossible or didn’t exist. The power to change your life lies greatly in your drive and ability to change (shift) your perception (paradigm) of yourself.

I believe this can be the best year of your life – do YOU?!

Too Many Irons in the Fire

by @scottmo on Sep.08, 2009, under Mo's

post copy

As I look at my project board for this week one thought comes to mind, IMPOSSIBLE! It reminds of the old saying, “I have too many irons in the fire”. Three videos, one podcast, web design proposal, 5 meetings and lots of little extras, all in three days (because of Labor Day). It can be overwhelming if you allow it too be. But I have a couple of suggestions for us all to use as we run into THAT WEEK.

1. Make an exhaustive list of everything that you think needs to be completed this week.

2. Prioritize the list into each projects order of importance. Rank them according to what has to be done first, second, etc.

3. You may even want to put extra information about each project under the title. ie – time needed, effort, cost, etc.

4. Do not work on projects not on your list. Postpone them until after your current list is complete.

5. Remember a couple of things:

  • a – Take breaks. Even at your most proficient, you are not a machine. You are still human and if you try to work like a machine, you will pay for it. Either in the quality of your output, stress on your body/mind/emotion or both.
  • b – Replenish. If you are putting your best on the line day after day, you must PLAN time when you can feed yourself. It’s like drawing water from a well day after day while no water is being added. Sooner or later the well (you) will run dry.

6. Lastly and most importantly, Celebrate your wins. Reward yourself after completing a task on your list and after completing a hard week of work.

These steps are just help the possible to not seem so impossible. Hope they help.
